Holiday Decorating Contest & Fishers Holiday Events

The Berkley Grove POA is once again sponsoring a Holiday Decorating Contest. IF you have decorations out in your yard, you are automatically entered! Judging will be completed on December 20th. Prizes will be awarded to the top three places. Winners will be announced on the Berkley Grove website.

The city of Fishers has multiple holiday activities planned this year:

  • The Winter Farmer’s Market is now running in Holland Park on Saturdays.
  • Saturday, December 7th from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. there will be a Winter Wonderland event to turn on the city’s lights display at the Fishers Ampitheater in the Municipal Complex. The event features the lighting of the Christmas tree, ice carvings, carriage rides, a visit from Santa and more.
  • Also at City Hall is a Santa Mailbox. Your kids can send a letter to Santa (with a self-addressed, stamped return envelope) and St. Nick will send them a reply.

Halloween Event Cancelled

Due to inclement weather, the Halloween Eve pizza party and costume parade at the neighborhood park has been cancelled. Fishers trick or treat hours are still October 31st 6p.m. to 8p.m. Stay safe out there!

106th Street Construction Next Week

We received word from our city councilperson David George that next week while the schools are on fall break the city will be closing a portion of 106th street to work on the railroad/trail crossing.  The city plans to lower the trail bed to the street level, which will allow them to remove the stop sign from that location.  This will allow the city to connect sidewalks to the trail.  In addition, Lantern Road will also be closed for construction next week from 116th to Fishers Pointe Blvd.

The city plans to complete the work next week, closing the road for approximately 5 days.

Here is a map of the closure:
